Assignment Details:

The assignment is divided into 3 parts, such as

·     Part 1 is worth 15% (submission 10% + presentation 5%),

·     Part 2 is worth 20% (submission 15% + presentation 5%) and


·     Part 3 for 15% (submission 10% + presentation 5%)

Part 1 (15% marks: submission 10% + presentation 5%)

·     A brief literature review detailing the ICT requirements for a Project Management Information System and select an organisation to explore this further.

·     Conduct a brief analysis of your chosen organisation’s business processes.

·     Based on your analysis, propose the design and development of a new web-based project management tool or a Portal for managing projects in your chosen organisation.

·     Provide justification for your chosen tool.
·     Word limit: 1000-1200 words (excluding references and appendix)

·     Presentation 5% (due week 4 – week 5, during tutorial)

Part 2 (20% marks: submission 15% + presentation 5%)

·     Generate a Requirement specification Report (see RSR Template) for the proposed IS System which must include o suitable workflows o performance metric

O Functional and non-functional requirements of the system such as availability, security, infrastructure
o  Must contain business continuity plan, suitable performance metrics and KPIs

o Discuss acquisition processes of the proposed IS System using some concepts such as SDLC etc.

·     Word limit: 1500-1800 words (excluding references and appendix)
·     Presentation 5% (due week 8 – week 9, during tutorial)
·     You need to present your work.
Part 3 (15% marks: submission 10% + presentation 5%)

·     Create and execute a test plan (see Test Plan Template) of the proposed system

·     Recommendations on how to effectively utilize the proposed IS System and plans on business continuity etc.

·       Word limit: 1500-1800 words (excluding references and appendix)
·     Presentation 5% (due week 11 – week 12, during tutorial)
