Unit Name : Manage the Testing Process

This assessment contains scenario based questions. This assessment helps students to develop the testing requirements for the project, prepare test process technique, develop testing timeline and allocate resources for an ICT project.

Part A – Answer the questions based on the following Scenarios

1. Given that the testing process is critical for the success of an IT project. Explain what project resources you would require for any project to be successful.

2. As the IT Project Manager, you have been given strict budget set by your Accounts Officer, how would you justify your expenditure of implementing IT resources? Give an example.

3. Joe Bloggs in the sales office has been given the approval of implementing Salesforce into your business. How would you respond? Write a business case to explain your perspective and some basic business requirements. Which test process technique would you use as a resource? Provide explanations. 

4. Your General Manager is upset by the amount of time it takes to implement new IT hardware or software. You know due to the amount of time it takes for the testing process to be completed, you feel it is advantageous for this timeframe. In your own words, what reason would you give to your General Manager, in this situation? 

5. You are the Chief Technical Officer of a car company. Overnight there were a few thousand cars delivered without a quality assurance or any type of testing. Provide an explanation as to what could possible go wrong with this scenario. How would you ensure that proper testing was given to each car before being delivered? 

6. You have decided to replace the existing Windows 2008 Server with the new Windows 2016 Server. Provide a business case as to why you think this is a better option for the company that you are working for.  

7. Your Accounts Officer, states that the existing accounts software is out of date and there are new accounting regulations that changed the way that he processes accounts. How would you approach this? In your own words, write a business case and any number of requirements that meet his expectations.
