Case Study Objectives:

The objective of this Individual Case Study is to strengthen the core knowledge of business information systems used by different business organizations.

Task Guidelines for Case Study:
  • You are expected to read the understand the case article “ ERP Implementation of Omantel”and prepare a report by answering all the questions.
  • This i s an i n d i v i d u a l assessment and you are expected to submit the report as per the given schedule.
  • All tasks are (i.e., Task 1, 2 and 3) compulsory.
  • Task 1 (Proposal) is based on your understanding of the requirements to perform Task 2 and Task 3. Task 1 should be submitted in week 4 or on the date specified above.
  • Task 2 is based on the research article, and Task 3 is based on your research. Report must be submitted on Week 11 or on the date specified above.
  • Internet resources can also be used to search for information
  • Do not copy-paste directly from the resources, if you do so, then present the relevant references at the end of the assignment document.
  • Marks will be awarded for the content written in your own words.
  • Your report must include the following Sections: Introduction, Literature review,conclusion, findings, and other details.
  • Use Harvard Coventry style for referencing.

Evaluation:

 Task 1: Work Proposal 10 Marks
 Task 2: Analysis and Knowledge of the Case 60 Marks
 Task 3: Research Analysis 20 Marks
 Task 4: Report and References 10 Marks

Report Guidelines

Follow the guidelines mentioned below for your Case Study.
Y o u are required to submit your assignment in Moodle along with a detailed report of your assignment containing the following: 

Report Format:

Title Page: Title Page should contain the following information.
• Assignment Name
• Session
• Student name
• Student ID
Introduction: Brief overview about the case study. And should not exceed more than one page.
Conclusion: Must be brief, accurate, and clear.
References: References should include:
• Author name, Book Title, Publisher, Year in case of books
• In case of web site references type the full path of the web page along with accessed date.
• In case of magazines/periodicals type article name, magazine name, Issue Number and date
• Ensure that Wikipedia will not be used as one of the references for the case study.
• Use Harvard Coventry style for referencing.

Note: The report document should be well presented and neatly done.

Task 1: (Work Proposal)

Submit a work proposal for this case study in Moodle, which must include the understanding of activities in Task 2 by 7th April 2018.You are required to submit the proposal with the following details:
Content of the Proposal:

a. General description of the questions being asked in the case study.
b. Work plan/Timeline/Schedule showing the time required for each task.
c. References you used in submitting the proposal and other future references that might be used for the final report.

Task 2: (Analysis and Knowledge of the Case)

a. Based on the Case study titled “ERP Implementation of Omantel”, write a short description how ERP system was implemented in Omantel.

b. Discuss the critical success factors in ERP system implementation of Omantel.

c. What do you think was the technique or approach that Omantel used to implement the ERP system? You must provide a specific technique or approach with a detailed
justification.                                                                                           
Task 3: Research Analysis

a. Compare and contrast at least two different types of ERP system that is being used by any Organization in Middle East.                     
b. Provide a success story of ERP system implementation in any organization in Oman. Explain the factors why they succeeded in the ERP implementation.

Task 4: Report and References

Note: Wikepedia is not acceptable as a reference for both proposal and final report. And for referencing Harvard Coventry style must be used.
