There are two major types of researches. The qualitative and the quantitative research. The quantitative research deals with data that is in numbers and can be measured whereas the qualitative research is involved with interpreting a subject matter using a naturalistic approach.

There are mainly four stages involved in planning and performing a qualitative data.

2. Recontextualization, 
3. Categorization and 
4. Compilation.
