3. Anda dikehendaki menyerahkan tugasan dalam format MsWord melainkan dinyatakan sebaliknya. Anda tidak dibenarkan untuk menukar teks/frasa tugasan tersebut kepada format grafik seperti .jpeg / .gif / print screen / dan lain-lain format berkaitan. /Learners are to submit assignment only in MsWord format unless specified otherwise. Please refrain from converting text/phrases into picture format such as .gif / .jpeg / print screen / etc.

4.  Muat turunkan templat tugasan versi bahasa yang berkenaan daripada myINSPIRE untuk penyediaan dan penyerahan tugasan anda. Tugasan anda hendaklah ditaip dengan menggunakan saiz fon 12 Times New Roman dan langkau baris 1.5. / Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the myINSPIRE for preparation and submission of your assignment. Your assignment should be typed using 12 point Times New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing.

5.  Tugasan anda hendaklah antara 2500 hingga 3000 patah perkataan tidak termasuk rujukan. Bilangan perkataan hendaklah ditunjukkan di hujung tugasan anda. Jangan menyalin soalan dan arahan tugasan dalam jawapan anda. Pemeriksa tidak akan membaca jawapan tugasan yang melebihi had patah perkataan yang dibenarkan. Jumlah perkataan hendaklah dinyatakan di penghujung tugasan anda.  / Your assignment should be between 2500 to 3000 words excluding references. The number of words should be shown at the end of your assignment. Do not copy the assignment question and instructions to your answer. Only assignment answer developed within the approximate word limit will be assessed. The number of words should be shown at the end of your assignment.

6.       Anda dikehendaki menghantar tugasan SECARA ONLINE melalui myINSPIRE. Sila rujuk kepada portal untuk arahan mengenai prosedur menghantar tugasan anda secara online. Anda dinasihatkan menyimpan senaskah tugasan yang diserahkan untuk rujukan sendiri. / You must submit your assignment ONLINE via the myINSPIRE. Refer to the portal for instructions on the procedures to submit your assignment online. You are advised to keep a copy of your submitted assignment for personal reference.
      
7.  Anda hanya boleh menghantar tugasan SEKALI sahaja dalam SATU fail. / You can submit your assignment ONCE only in a SINGLE file.

8. Tugasan anda hendaklah diserahkan antara 4 Mac 2019 hingga 17 Mac 2019  Serahan selepas    17 Mac 2019 TIDAK akan diterima. / Your assignment must be submitted between 4 March 2019  until 17 March 2019. Submission after 17 March 2019 will NOT be accepted.

9.  Tugasan hendaklah disiapkan secara individu. Anda dilarang meniru tugasan orang      lain. Anda juga dilarang sama sekali memplagiat kerja orang lain sebagai kerja sendiri. /Your assignment should be prepared individually. You should not copy another person’s assignment. You should also not plagiarise another person’s work as your own.

10.     Sila ambil maklum tentang PENALTI yang akan dikenakan ke atas penghantaran lewat tugasan seperti yang tertera di pekeliling pejabat Pendaftar 6/2012 (Rujuk Registrar’s Announcement di myVLE). / Please take note that PENALTY will be imposed on late submission of assignment as specified in the Registrar’s Office circular 6/2012 (Refer to Registrar’s Announcement in myVLE).

11.     Anda perlu memastikan RESIT yang dikeluarkan bagi penghantaran tugasan disimpan sebagai bukti penghantaran. Kegagalan mengemukakan resit dalam sebarang isu yang timbul berkaitan penghantaran tugasan akan mengakibatkan tugasan dianggap TIDAK dihantar / Please ensure that you keep the RECEIPT issued upon submisson of your assignment as proof of submission. PURPOSE
This assignment aims to assess students' understanding on the relevancy of journalism practices with the rule of a country.

REQUIREMENT
The Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr Chamil Wariya has outlined three values of journalism practiced, namely missionary journalism, civil service journalism and commercial journalism. Missionary journalism is a journalist who uses his profession to champion an ideology he believes. From the perspective of public service journalism, journalists consider themselves the fourth estate that plays an important role in a country after the three main institutions, lawmakers, executives and judges. While commercial journalism highlights the value of news that can be sold and attracted audiences, such as human interest news, sports and entertainment, to gain financial gains.

Based on the above news quote:
Analyze the above quote and critically discuss about media practices in the country. To what extent the truth of view saying that media practice is more freedom after the Barisan Nasional regime? Refer to the rubric provided for further requirements in preparing this assignment. Your discussion must be supported with appropriate examples, references and quotes.

TUJUAN
Tugasan ini bertujuan untuk menilai kefahaman pelajar tentang perkaitan amalan kewartawanan dengan pemerintahan sesebuah negara.

KEPERLUAN
Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Institut Akhbar Malaysia (MPI), Datuk Dr Chamil Wariya telah menggariskan tiga nilai kewartawanan yang diamalkan, iaitu kewartawanan perjuangan, kewartawanan perkhidmatan awam dan kewartawanan komersial. Kewartawanan perjuangan adalah wartawan yang menggunakan profesionnya untuk memperjuangkan sesuatu ideologi yang dipercayainya. Dari perspektif kewartawanan perkhidmatan awam pula, wartawan menganggap diri mereka sebagai fourth estate yang memainkan peranan penting dalam sesuatu negara selepas tiga institusi utama, iaitu penggubal undang-undang, pelaksana dan kehakiman. Sementara itu, kewartawanan komersial pula mengetengahkan nilai berita yang boleh dijual dan menarik perhatian khalayak, seperti berita berunsur human interest, sukan dan hiburan, bagi meraih keuntungan kewangan.
